If there is a single word you would associate with the Benedikt Schnürr, it's pioneer. As the eldest son of the Schnürr family, he has been taking over the daily running of the vineyard the past year, and he is very aware of what he is doing.
I visit him and the Schnürr vineyard in Gundersheim, Rheinhessen in Germany on a beautiful April day, and Benedikt gave me the full tour of both the vineyard and the cellar before ending the day with a great barbecue under the stars.
